After going to Old Silver Beach in Falmouth today my friends and I decided to check out some places in Falmouth to see how wheelchair accessible they are. We stopped at Casino Wharf which is located right on the Ocean. There is Valet Parking only so parking is no problem. There are stairs leading to the main entry door and a wide sloped cement walkway with railings so access is no problem.

The entry door is not automatic so you may need help with opening it. Once inside a hostess offers to seat you. We asked to see the menu and saw that the prices were expensive so we decided to just have a drink. There is a bar and an indoor and outdoor dining area on the first floor. The bar is too high for someone in a wheelchair but the tables are perfect height. There is an elevator that will take you to another indoor dining area upstairs as well as a deck in which you can even see Martha’s Vineyard from. All the tables are a good height for a person in a wheelchair. A bar and lounge is located upstairs too and they have live bands every night. An Entertainment Schedule is available at the restaurant. Just call the telephone number above and they will mail a schedule to you.

The restrooms are very wheelchair accessible. There is a large handicap stall with all the required safety grab bars. The accessible sinks have the ADA required protective covering and the water faucet is automatic so as soon as you place your hand under the faucet the water comes on. The soap and paper towel dispenser is automatic as well!

I give Casino Wharf FOUR STARS for wheelchair accessibility. They would just need to install an automatic entry door to earn the Fifth Star. It would also be nice if they made a portion of the bar wheelchair accessible!
